St. Therese Institute of Faith and Mission offers a post-secondary, nine-month program that transforms the lives of our students. This transformation comes from a personal encounter with Christ, experienced in and through Catholic community life. Based on the spiritual genius of St. Thérèse of Lisieux, the program includes daily prayer and sacraments, community-based formation, Catholic academics, fellowship, sports, and fun. Faithful, dynamic instructors deepen students' understanding and love of the Catholic faith. Undergraduate-level courses include theology, philosophy, Church history, Scripture, and much more.
Our students find a rock-solid foundation for their life: who they really are in God and why they are here. They are deeply formed to grow in holiness and to sanctify the world around them. This is the contagious joy you will experience at St. Therese Institute: belonging to a community of friends who live from the heart of the gospel, the little way of St. Thérèse of Lisieux.
God has the perfect plan for your life.
It’s time to discover what that is.
Our academic curriculum moves through three progressive phases, each with its own theme: Abandonment & Obedience, Confidence & Communion, Discernment & Mission.
The program starts the first Tuesday of September (the day after Labour Day)* with the Orientation weeks which wrap up October 1st, St. Thérèse of Lisieux's feast day. These are followed by 20 weeks of Core Courses, running October through March. The third phase from March until May is called our Springtime of the Faith. This series of week-long intensive courses —which are also open for public registration— are designed to synthesize and put into practice what the students have learned in the classroom. Intensives include the mission of the laity, Ignatian discernment, theology of the body, apologetics, marriage and family life, and the new evangelization.
The program ends at the beginning of the Victoria Day weekend in May.*
We follow the example of our patroness, St. Thérèse of Lisieux, and her path of spiritual childhood, expressed in her little way. We also incorporate the spirituality of Nazareth as found in the teachings of Catherine Doherty, Servant of God. Our spiritual life is distinctly Eucharistic, Marian, faithful to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Magisterium of His Church, open to the movement of the Holy Spirit, and ordered first to personal sanctity and then to the sanctification of the world.
This formation at St. Therese Institute is lived in a context of intentional Christian community where students learn right ordered relationship with God and with neighbour. They develop a habit of personal and liturgical prayer, intellectual development, faith formation, discernment, and an understanding of the calling and role of the lay person in the Catholic Church.
God has the perfect plan for your life.
It’s time to discover what that is.
Anyone who walks through the doors of St. Therese Institute remarks on the incredible spirit of joy and peace they feel. This spirit overflows from prayer and the close, trusting friendships students forge with each other as they embrace the challenges and graces of the program. Students often share that they never knew such close friendships before coming to St. Therese.
Even as they learn to love one another as brothers and sisters, many friendships later transition into small communities of friends living the little way in the world, supporting and encouraging each other, while others blossom into holy marriages and families.
When you come to St. Therese Institute, you become part of a growing family of faith-filled Catholics like you who become friends for life.

St. Therese Institute of Faith and Mission is unique in Canada: a post-secondary Catholic institute providing adult faith formation in a common life of prayer, study, and fellowship, inspired by the life and teachings of St. Thérèse of Lisieux. Through the encounter with Jesus Christ and living the gospel in authentic community, lay men and women are equipped to pursue holiness, discern their life's mission or vocation, and become missionary disciples of Christ in the world.
St. Therese Institute is located in Bruno, Saskatchewan, one hour east of Saskatoon, surrounded by the beautiful Canadian prairies. (We also host the famous Bruno Cherry Sunday festival in August!) Students enjoy a range of outdoor activities, from bonfires and cookouts to ultimate frisbee and pond hockey to hikes and pilgrimages, like the one to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Shrine with its stunning hilltop views.
